The article titled "Walking Behavior-Based Positioning Strategy for Dockless Shared Mobility Systems," co-authored by SUM Research Group Manager Gürkan Çelik, has been published in IEEE Access, a prestigious Q2 category journal indexed in SCI-E.
This study addresses the critical positioning and supply-demand imbalance challenges frequently encountered in dockless shared mobility systems, such as shared bicycles and e-scooters. To enhance operational efficiency, the research proposes an innovative strategy, specifically the Walking-Behaviour based MCLP (WB-MCLP), which centers on users' walking behaviors by simultaneously evaluating both distance and topographical slope factors to optimize vehicle deployment. The results demonstrate that this model aligns accurately with realistic user access behaviors, offering superior coverage performance and significantly improving system efficiency.
